The really wonderful thing about blogging is the people. I have ‘met’ so many wonderful people via this blog and by reading others and there is often a sense of community which I enjoy. So another little swap went down this week and like the great ‘poetry for chutney’ swap, I feel I got the better end of the bargin. Included in the little parcel fo joy that arrived in my mail box yesterday was “Art Icons from Te Papa” with the Northland panels on the cover (how did you know?) and some art cards by Sam Broad – I am very fond of “Mothership and Child”.
Another old friend (pre-internet) this week also told me he thought I should have been in England in the 20’s with my “literary interests and theorising and all”. Yeah me and Katherine Mansfield or perhaps Virginia Woolf? I always thought Ottoline Morrell sounded fun too. As absurd as it is, the idea of a salon is intriguing. I think I’d make a great salonnière, which actually is maybe what I am doing with this blog?
So thanks to my friend the poet/artist Helen for the goodies!
